Help Us Find Solutions to the Microplastics Problem
The webinar is planned for November 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM ET, and we need your help.
We are looking for success stories, practical examples, and innovative ideas for reducing our use of and exposure to microplastics. Please post your ideas and real-world examples on the forum or email them to me. If you—or someone you know—would be interested in participating in the live panel discussion during the webinar, please let us know.
The program will begin with a keynote speaker describing the problems associated with plastics. This will be followed by a live panel of 3–4 participants discussing questions, experiences, and practical solutions for reducing or mitigating the use of plastics in our daily lives.
Some communities have recognized the seriousness of this issue and have already taken steps—or developed plans—to reduce plastics in our diets and environment. Examples might include:
- Changing food-service practices and packaging
- Using glass or metal containers instead of plastic
- Choosing foods and beverages with less plastic packaging
- Installing air and water filtration systems
- Switching from synthetic apparel to cotton or other natural or organic materials
- Repurposing existing plastics for safer applications
- Developing other innovative approaches to reducing plastic use and exposure
Detailed information would be especially valuable, including plans, costs or economics, expected results, lessons learned, and contact information for people who can provide additional information.
The webinar will be live-streamed through the NaCCRA Media channel. It will provide the latest information and practical ideas concerning this important and rapidly growing issue of “Forever Plastics.”
