I was a member of the Board of Director of Loomis Communities (non-profit, Massachusetts) for several years before I became a resident of Applewood (one of 3 Loomia Communities). The Board considered adding resident members and although it was a bit controversial, my own experience at the time as a college adminitrator who dealt with a board which was resistant to adding a student member was helpful. The college's positive experience helped convince the Loomis Board that it would be a good addition. There are now 3 resident members on the Board, one from each of the communities. They have full terms and full voting rights.
